How do I screen Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) for a minor parent living with his/her major parent/s?
To screen TANF for a minor parent living with his/her major parent/s, take the following steps:
- Follow the steps in Screening an Application.
- On the Applicant page enter the minor parent name and address.
- On the Add Member page for the Head of Household minor parent, check Add More and click Next.
- On the Add Member - Search Criteria page enter the minor parent's child's name and other information then click Next.
- On the Add Member page for the minor parent's child enter a relationship of CH-Child Natural/Adopted, check Add More then click Next.
- On the Add Member - Search Criteria page enter the minor parent's major parent(s) (Mom or Dad) name and information, click Next.
- On the Add Member page for the major parent enter a relationship of Other related adult (OT) check Add More if there is another major parent, then click Next.
- If there is another major parent, repeat step 5 for that parent, if there are no other major parents, click Next to continue with the screening process.
NOTE: Do not include the minor's parents sibling(s) on the TANF AU.
