Self-Advocates Advisory Council

The Self-Advocate Advisory Council is a chance for the people we serve to tell us what’s working and what’s not. They share insights based on their own lived experiences and those of their friends and community members.

The council meets with staff to give feedback on projects they’re working on. Examples of topics members have given input on:

  • The complaint process
  • Communication with the people we serve
  • Changes to policies
  • Improving our website
  • Training
  • Client Rights
  • Barriers and solutions

Members of the council are people who receive services. Compensation is provided for those who are not being paid by their employer or organization.
