CSTC Nursing Services

A registered nurse is scheduled to work each shift on each cottage.  Nurses are the members of the treatment team who:

• Help with any physical problems patients may have (feeling sick, getting injured).
• Pass out medications (prescribed by medical doctors).
• Schedule and (when staffing allows) take patients to clinical appointments.
• Provide immunizations and basic first-aid or medical assessments.
• Lead patient education groups.
• Provide skills coaching and participate in patient activities.
• Answer patient questions about health or medications.
• Communicate with parents or legal guardians for care coordination.
