2022 Internship

"Every year new interns come in. Fresh faces with a slight look of fear and anxiousness. They do not know what they have coming up in the next ten weeks. Acronyms, policies, programs and services for Washingtonians they may never see. After the first week of their internship, many of the interns were very familiar with the acronyms, policies, programs and services. You need to learn fast and furious. The future of our agency is in the fresh faces with a slight look of fear and anxiousness. As they exit after ten weeks, their faces are still fresh. They now have the look of confidence; their voices are stronger and more sure. They have a better idea of who they are and what they want to do with their future. Many of them we will see again in the future. Thank you for interning with DSHS and for being a part of our family. We appreciate what you bring to us and what we learn from you."
