Code of Federal Regulations
The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is a set of rules adopted by the U.S. Department of Education to administer public vocational rehabilitation programs operated by states and territories. The primary CFRs for the VR program are:
Revised Code of Washington
The Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 74.29 is a statute passed by the state legislature that authorizes DSHS to administer the VR program for the state of Washington.
There are also other Revised Code of Washington chapters that relate to other state government programs.
Washington Administrative Code
The Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 388-891A and 388-892 for contract services contains the administrative rules adopted by DSHS to define DVR services and program requirements. These are the Division’s day-to-day operating rules and requirements. The WAC incorporates requirements in the Rehabilitation Act, the Code of Federal Regulations, and other relevant state laws and DSHS policies.
There are also other Washington Administrative Code chapters that relate to other state government programs.
DVR Customer Services Manual
The DVR Customer Services Manual (pdf) contains policies and procedures for everyday case practices. The guidance in the manual is consistent with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, the Code of Federal Regulations, state laws and DSHS requirements.
