If you are looking for an exciting and rewarding opportunity in social and health services research, RDA is often in search of research associates, statistical programmers, and application developers. Generally, we search for people with the following skills:
Research Associates: These positions generally require a Ph.D. (sociology, demography, psychology, economics, health services, public health, geography, statistics, or related fields) and demonstrated knowledge of the research methods and topics appropriate to each project. Authorship of government reports or peer-reviewed publications based on scientific research is highly desired. Prior experience with large complex datasets such as administrative data is also valued. All RDA projects require the ability to carry out complex scientific research, conduct and interpret statistical analyses, and communicate results clearly to non-technical audiences.
Research Analysts and Project Staff: A Master's or a Bachelor's degree with experience in scientific research is preferred. Requirements are project specific, but statistical analysis or programming skills are often needed. Literature review and writing skills are also occasionally needed. These positions are well suited to individuals planning to pursue further studies who would like additional research experience.
Statistical Programmers and Application Developers: Research experience and a graduate degree in social sciences, computer science, geographic information systems, or other technical area is preferred. Experience in programming, database design, working on project teams, SAS, R, Oracle, SQL, and ArcGIS are highly desirable.
