About RDA

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Research and Data Analysis Division (RDA) engages in research, evaluation, program monitoring, predictive modeling, decision-support tools, forecasting, and geographic analysis for a wide range of publicly funded services. Our integrated administrative databases support work on topics such as:

Aging and Long-Term Care, Behavioral Health, Cash and Food Assistance, Child Welfare and Well-Being, Criminal Legal Involvement, Disability Services, Health Services, Homelessness and Housing.

RDA provides data, analytics, and decision support tools to improve health and human services in Washington State. Results of our work are shared through direct consultation with policy makers, program leaders, and contracted service providers; research briefs and reports; and presentations to work groups and conferences. Throughout its work, RDA safeguards client data by handling sensitive information in accordance with federal law, state law and agency policy, and through coordination with data owners and the Washington State Institutional Review Board.
