Our residential habilitation centers provide support for people with developmental or intellectual disabilities. They offer 24/7 comprehensive care and habilitative services which include teaching skills for daily living.
We provide a variety of services at our RHCs across Washington state to include nursing facilities and intermediate care facilities, which focus on active treatment providing residents with essential tools needed to transition to community-based living. In addition, we offer respite services and crisis support.
Who we serve
Our facilities are federally certified to provide 24/7 support. Eligible individuals admitted to an RHC must be 21 years or older; individuals ages 16-20 may be eligible if services are not available in the community to meet their needs.
RHC services
Both nursing facilities and intermediate care facilities provide wraparound services to offer residents a full spectrum of care.
Services include:
- Active treatment (Ongoing support of individualized treatment plan)
- Habilitative services (Training in daily living skills)
- Nursing services
- On-site medical and dental services
- Employment services
- Physical, occupational and speech therapies
- Behavioral support (psychology and psychiatry)
- Recreational services
- Partnerships with local medical care providers
- Contracts with medical specialists
Discharge planning begins at admission. The interdisciplinary team will develop targets based on a person’s needs to meet their discharge goals.

Washington state operates four RHCs for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities:
- Lakeland Village in Medical Lake (Intermediate care facility nursing facility, and respite services)
- Fircrest School in Shoreline (Intermediate care facility, nursing facility, and respite services)
- Rainier School in Buckley (Intermediate care facility)
- Yakima Valley in Selah (Nursing facility, respite services, and crisis support)
