The Community Outreach and Education program, launched in May 2023, is one of ORIA’s newest programs. It is designed to support the growing numbers of refugees and humanitarian immigrants moving to communities across Washington. Program services focus on helping new arrivals get connected to the services and resources needed to rebuild their lives, and to gain the knowledge and information that will help them navigate and integrate into local communities.
Services
Services include outreach, information and referral, resource navigation, community and cultural orientation, educational workshops and support services. The program also allows for innovative services that meet the unique needs of the community.
Eligibility
To receive services, individuals must:
- Have arrived in the United States on or after July 1, 2021.
- Be at least 16 years of age or older.
- Be resident of Washington state.
- Have an immigration status that makes them eligible for federally funded refugee services from the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement. For more information about ORR eligibility, visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.
